The Breaking Dawn Adventure

Here is the busy Barnes and Nobles as the girls eagerily await their chance to buy the book.
This is where we tried to win the free stuff. Um, I really was very lame at it all. I thought I would do well, but that was not the case. I ended up stealing some of the stickers off a table. It was easier than trying to win the trivia. Well, maybe it was not stealing, but picking them up. I tried to tell the girls that Edward just walked in, so I could closer to win something. Did not work!
Here is my prom picture with Maddie and Brooke. I have my stickers on my shirt, don't be jealous.
So, I received an email from a friend explaining that the local Middle School would get a portion of the proceeds when people bought books from Barnes and Nobles on August1st. The new "Twilight" book was coming out, so I thought I would stop by to see what kind of fuss was being made for this new book. I had never been to a book release and was frankly curious. I read that it was from 10-12 in the evening. I thought, oh maybe they start a bit earlier and I could just pick up a copy. Well, I drive up after ushering Music Circus to find the parking lot of B and N packed solid. FIRST BAD SIGN! It was not a little gathering. I did not realize that B and N was hosting Prom. There were more girls in their cute little dresses roaming around a store waiting for the fateful hour. I went with my friend Debbie and her daughters inside the store to try to answer some trivia questions thinking we could win some free stuff.
Well, NEXT BAD SIGN! I read the books months ago and I guess my comprehension and memory is not very good. I had the idea that my college education helped me remember important information and that these young girls probably did not know much. Well was I surprised. I bet their English teachers would be so proud. They were talking about characters and situations in the stories that I could not begin to remember. We took our picture and I was very tempted to get some dark red lipstick and black nail polish done at Barnes and Nobles. They really knew how to appeal to the love struck Edward fans. Well after all the excitement, I learned that I probably would not be able to "just pick up a book". I would probably get my hands on the book around 1:20...um not for me. I do love the series of books, but maybe I could wait until the next morning and head down to Costco. So no luck for me scoring a book or helping the school. But an experience I will soon not forget...or do I want to. The only thing that I have experienced and I can say was crazier was Women's Night Out at Deseret Book in Bountiful. Now that also is a life changing experience.
