Well, it is official. I now have a real job. I just signed my contract to teach a Kindergarten/First grade class. I have a split class, which is not the most ideal situation, but it is a job. I had been working at the school as a long term sub. in a 5th grade class. The position came up in Kindergarten/first and after a lot of work, I got the job. My classroom was a mess when I got it. The room is an old portable, with no cabinets or storage area. It is a bit of a challenge. I have tackled most of the issues and things are looking better. I still don't have all my materials, but it is looking better. I will post pictures soon. My kids are doing well so far. I only have 5 kindergarteners and 15 first graders. It is mostly a first grade class, with some kindergarten cirrculum. It is a bit crazy at the beginning, but it is going well. I am just so happy to have benefits and an opportunity to have a steady job. I can't wait to go to the dentist.
