The Ending of October

It has been quite a week. As you can see, Halloween, Prop 8, friends kept me busy. First, we took the grandkids trick or treating. We went to the neighbors' houses. Allan cried at every house because he wanted to eat every peice of candy he got. Briley was scared of every house that had a pumpkin or a ghost. Taylin was just annoyed that the younger kids were slowing her down. Overall, fun night. I then went to the girls' house and we had a little party. Sorry no pictures, but we had fun. We made candied apples and watched an old mystery, that I slept through the whole thing. It was a long, very long week. We had fun. My friend Ben called from Officer Training for the Navy. Poor kid is freezing but he is doing good.

Prop 8 has been keeping me busy. I have called every night this week for a few hours. Sometimes it has been productive, other times not so much. I understand also. People have been called and advertised to death. I did join a large group that held signs from Highway 50 to Sunrise Mall on Sunrise Blvd on Saturday. It was pouring rain, but it was impressive. There was a lot of support down by Sunrise Mall. We had a lot where we were also. We had a lot of positive people, and a few who showed us some fingers. My favorite was the guy who got the homeless guy to wear a sign while asking for money. I am reminded at how much I am blessed with in my life to have a living prophet to guide and direct us. I understand the doctorines of the gospel and how I can prepare my future family someday. I have seen the line drawn. Good vs. Evil and I am blessed to know that God has given us truths. These truths don't change. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Standing up for truth may not be popular, but it is what is right.
Dave and Alena had a little baby boy. It was fun to see him in the hospital. Little Sean has TONS of hair. I have not even mentioned my class, but that has gone well. I had a great Halloween..oops we called it "Freaky Friday" Celebration. We had a 5 senses lesson involving "brains and and eyeballs". The kids loved it and we had a great day. I have been busy with meetings after meetings. I do love it and life is good. I have to get ready for church now. But, it has been quite a week. I can't wait to vote!
