It's been nice to watch the Olympics on TV and listen to them talk about a country I love so much. It is fun to have the sports announcers talk about the threat of the mighty Norwegians. I can also talk to people about my time in Norway and they actually don't mind me telling all my stories. So here is a walk down my winter memories of Norway.

This country is very long and tall taking 40 hours to drive from top to bottom. I stayed around the capital, Oslo. I served my entire mission on the bottom right section of the country. Norway only has one stake and I served in the stake the entire time.

My companion, Kunz, and I went cross country skiing. Cross country skiing is like jogging or bike riding in the US. They take their skies everywhere and ski everywhere. We borrowed these skies from a place like our YMCA. They give out skies like we let kids borrow a basketball. They have ski trails like we have bike/running trails. They even light some of their trails at night. They are dedicated skiers.

I miss the cute little towns scattered throughout the country.

My cute little house that I lived in while in my first area, Sarpsborg. I loved this little red house!

Here is the ski jump, Homenkollen, in Oslo. Norway hosted the Olympics in 1952 in Oslo and then later in Lillehammer in 1994.

Playing some basketball in the church parking lot. We had a bit of snow that year.
I seriously loved my snow experience. It was freezing but a quite a change. I have "been to the snow" once this year. I plan on going this weekend, but how different from my time on my mission. I love Norway!

Cool pics! Thanks for the little informative post on Norway. My father-in-law is from Norway (hence the ridiculously hard to spell last name, Reiersen.) He loves to talk about Norway and I am one of those Americans who knows absolutely nothing about Norway....other than it's cold!
Your pics make me want to go cross country skiing! How fun!
