Today a 13 year old swimmer came up to me and asked to borrow a cell phone. I told him that I would let him use the pool's land line.
George: What is a land line?
Me: It is a regular phone
George: What, not a cell phone?
Me: No it is plugged into the wall. Just wait and see it.
(We walked over to the office and I showed him the phone.)
George: This is a phone from the 70's.
Me: Well, it is just a regular phone. Here you can use it. (I pick it up for him to use.)
George: Um, how do I use it?
Me: Dial the number
George: Do I need to press any special button first?
Me: No, just press the numbers.
George: Do I need to press anything after I dial the number?
Me: No, it will just dial it after you press the numbers.
(He looked at me in almost awe)
At this point I had to walk away and laugh. I did not realize using a phone would be so difficult. Oh kids! I am glad to teach a 13 year old how to use a phone.

That's Hilarious!!! My 80 year old grandparents are constantly asking me why there is no dial tone on their cell phones. "How do you know when it's ready for you to dial?" What a funny reversal from a 13 year old!
How funny is that.
